Overview (Purpose)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">This test aims to verify the reproducibility and stability of irradiance when illumination is resumed after the shutter has been closed in a solar simulator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">In actual operation, the shutter is frequently closed for sample exchange and measurement preparation. Therefore, how quickly the irradiance stabilizes after reopening the shutter, and whether the duration of shutter closure affects the irradiance, are important factors related to the reproducibility and operability of the system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">In this test, the temporal variation of irradiance was measured under different shutter-closure durations in order to examine whether the duration of shutter closure influences the irradiance behavior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-base-color has-contrast-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color has-large-font-size wp-elements-579f00051e0005309188419ec7c2b280\" style=\"padding-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--20);padding-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--20);padding-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--20);padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--20)\">2. Observations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The following tendencies were observed in this test:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">No difference in irradiance behavior was observed between the shutter close durations (1 min \/ 1 hour).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The measurement results obtained from the main and sub pyranometers were generally consistent, confirming the reproducibility of the measurements.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">A gradual change in irradiance was observed immediately after reopening the shutter; however, this behavior is considered to be mainly due to the temperature characteristics of the pyranometer.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-base-color has-contrast-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color has-large-font-size wp-elements-7aa2d844948e57e827620eea5aa288c0\" style=\"padding-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--20);padding-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--20);padding-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--20);padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--20)\">6. Evaluation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">A comparison of irradiance behavior after shutter reopening under shutter closure durations of 1 minute and 1 hour confirmed that the rise characteristics of irradiance were nearly identical under both conditions. In both cases, the irradiance was stable immediately after the shutter was opened, and a slight increasing trend was observed over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">This behavior is considered to be attributable to the temperature characteristics of the pyranometer, as confirmed in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.san-eielectric.co.jp\/am\/en\/measurement-reports-index\/irradiance-stability-test-24h-6h\/measurement-procedure\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"157\">the 24-hour continuous irradiation test<\/a>, and is presumed not to indicate a change in the irradiance of the light source itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">No significant difference in irradiance level or recovery behavior was observed between the different shutter closure durations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">These results confirm that the duration of shutter closure does not have a substantial effect on irradiance reproducibility or stability after shutter reopening. Therefore, normal operational shutter operations associated with sample exchange or measurement preparation are not expected to affect the irradiation conditions of the solar simulator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Furthermore, the results suggest that the optical system and thermal behavior of this model are stable. Since no difference in irradiance behavior was observed even when the shutter closure duration was varied from 1 minute to 1 hour, the influence of thermal state changes in the optical system caused by shutter operation is considered to be extremely small.
